How to Never Be Late Again

Many leaders routinely run late—Barack Obama was notorious for it. Given their never-ending to-do lists, entrepreneurs may be particularly susceptible to tardiness. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Here’s how to show up on time, every time.

Sleep on time to get places on time

Step 1: Get to bed on time. If you sleep through your first meeting, you’ll run behind all day

Reduce your to-do list to get places on time

Step 2: Cut your to-do list. An overscheduled agenda is the enemy of punctuality

Build buffers into your commute to get places on time

Step 3: Build a 50% time buffer into your travels. Assume a 30-minute commute will take 45

Set your watch fast to get places on time

Step 4: Set your watch 15 minutes fast. It’ll trigger just enough panic to quash any dawdling
